So this large acrylic on stretched canvas is under way. The pencil is sealed on the canvas using some clear spray affix which I let dry for a few days then covered with clear gesso. Once the gesso is dried and lightly sanded I can start blocking in base color. I really enjoy using a restricted pallet and building the colors I want in stead o getting distracted buy trying to choose between to many color choices. Although once in a while I will use something out of the usual pallet to add a bit of punch.
It will take a few months to accomplish some of what I am planning for this. I will try to post the process often over the project.

Finished this fella a few months ago. So much fun trying to stay loose but to show the different types of fur. Shaggy, woolly, to short. I learned a great deal from this critter.
